1. About Us

International Institute of Foreign Trade & Research has been promoted by Medi-Caps Ltd., a well-established pharmaceutical group with ISO-9002 certification, primarily involved in the manufacture of empty capsules. It also operates in the field of Real Estate and Finance through Mittal Enterprises. The Medi-Caps Group has decided to diversify in the field of Professional Education, under the enlightened leadership of Shri R.C. Mittal, its Managing Director. With this objective it has obtained the permission of the Higher Education Department, M.P. State Government and Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore to start high-level professional courses in the field of Foreign Trade and Business Administration etc.

2. About the Institute International Institute of Foreign Trade & Research has been set up to offer Under -Graduate, Post-Graduate and Diploma courses in the discipline of Foreign Trade to prepare the manpower required for a fast developing foreign trade business of India.

3. About the Governance For the establishment of International Institute of Foreign Trade and Research the Medi-Caps Education Society was constituted and registered under The M.P. Societies Registration Act. This Society has 10 members including Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, Joint Secretary and Treasurer. For the governance of the IIFTR a Governing Body has been constituted consisting of the representatives of the Society, University, State Government, faculty members and donors. In case of foreign collaboration, representative of the foreign university can also be associated with the governance of the Institute, if so required.

4. About the Objective The single point objective of the IIFTR is to establish an institution to provide quality and worthwhile education through quality infrastructure and competent faculty to prospective entrepreneurs and executives so that they can meet the challenges of business world with ability & tranquility. 5. About the Faculty The promoters of the Institute and the Governing Body both are committed to provide best available faculty in every area of study. Each Faculty of the IIFTR is responsible to conduct following triple activities: (a) Teaching (b) Consultancy and (c) Research. 6. About Affiliation & Approval by University All the academic programmes of the Institute have the affiliation from Devi Ahilya University, Indore. IIFTR does not believe in conducting non - affiliated academic courses. Foreign Trade Courses are governed by Ordinance No. 39 of Devi Ahilya University, Indore. MPAICTE approval is not needed for conducting courses in Foreign Trade, as these courses do not fall within the jurisdiction of AICTE. 7. About Award of Degree Consequently all the students of IIFTR will be awarded Master/Bachelor degrees and diploma by Devi Ahilya University after passing the examination as per rules.

8. About Government Approval IIFTR has been set up after obtaining due approval from Higher Education Department of Madhya Pradesh Government. IIFTR is, therefore, fully approved Institution of higher learning and its courses are duly recognized by and affiliated to Devi Ahilya University.

9. About Infrastructure IIFTR has newly constructed, magnificent and spacious building of 47,000 sq. feet and has all the needed infrastructure to conduct the classes in an efficient manner and provide good environment for study.

10. Library The Institute has a good library and is committed to provide proper library facilities to the students. More and more books are being added every year to enrich and update the library. Current journals and periodicals are being subscribed to acquaint the students with the recent developments. Faculty and students are given freedom in selecting and suggesting new titles of books for purchase in our library. One Unique feature of our is that all the books are supplied to all the students by our library. 11. Class Rooms Well-furnished classrooms are available in the Institute. 12. Computer Lab The computer lab of IIFTR has state-of-the-art computer facilities including softwares related to activities of the business concerns. 13. Hostels Hostel accommodation is provided to the students coming from outside Indore and also to the local residents, in case they need this facility. Institution has arrangement for separate hostels for boys and girls. 14. About Opportunities in Civil Services As our degrees are awarded by Devi Ahilya University, these are acceptable to the Union Public Service Commission, New Delhi for the purpose of admission to their Civil Service examinations. (Reference UPSC Letter No. F22/298-E. I (B) dtd. 27.10.99 addressed to Director, IIFTR. Indore). 15. About Business Linkages IIFTR is basically a professional institute aiming at training and developing the students to be entrepreneur or to be absorbed in export houses or software organizations, Insurance Companies and Banks. Keeping in view this objective IIFTR is approaching well established industries and business houses involved in export and import of goods and services to/from global market and organizations connected with the export of invisibles and computer concerns for training and placement of its students. This business linkage is surely to grow in years to follow for mutual benefit and our students are primarily to be advantaged because of this connectivity.

16. About Practical Orientation
Based on our linkages with the Export Houses and other intermediaries in foreign trade, efforts are being made to depute our students in suitable organizations of foreign trade for practical training to familiarize them with the best practices related to various aspects of foreign trade. The objective of practical orientation is to see that the student is not only well-informed about the theory of foreign trade and Insurance but also to acquaint him with the tensions and turbulations of real life situation so that when he enters the business or occupies executive position in export-import house, he has tools and techniques to solve the problems and thus show his worth from the day one. IIFTR has identified several export houses and Logistic Companies for practical orientation of its students.

17. Best Student Award Medicaps Education Society has instituted a Best Student Award to be given each year to the best student of the Institute for his/her outstanding performance in Academic, Co-Curricular and Extra Curricular activities. 18. Directors Academic Excellence Award This award will be given to a student of Foreign Trade who breaks the record of marks secured by any earlier student of that course in previous years. This award will be given only to record breakers in the year of breaking the record. 19. Best Fellowship Award This award will be given to a student who exhibits outstanding qualities of teamwork, fellow feeling, leadership and cooperative attitude to built up a good image of the Institute. 20. About Cultural Activities For all - round development of the students different types of cultural activities are organized by the Institute from time to time. 21. Seminar, Tours etc. Seminars and educational tours are normal features of the academic life of IIFTR. Dignitaries are invited to share their experiences with the students, Educational tours are also organized to ports and export houses.
