Excellent opportunities exist both in the area of higher studies and job assignments for the students completing Foreign Trade courses such as:

I. Opportunities for Higher Studies M.B. A. (FT) (Two Years)

Students who have been awarded Master of Foreign Trade degree and have inclination for higher studies or academic career can be registered for Ph.D. in Commerce Faculty.

M.B.A. (FT) (Integrated)

Students pursuing M.F.T. (integrated) course are entitled for twin degrees viz., B.F.T. and M.F.T. In case after getting B.F.T. one feels like joining any other Master Degree course one has the opportunity open for him/her. After M.F.T. (integrated) degree one can do Ph.D. in commerce faculty.

B.B.A. (Foreign Trade)

B.F.T. degree holder can join M.F.T., M.Com., LL.B., M.A., M.S.W. etc. as per his/her liking. He can also do C.A., C.S., C.F.A. & Computer Course. He can appear for I.A.S., I.P.S., I.E.S., exams of U.P.S.C.

II. Job Opportunities

For M.F.T. (FT, PT and Integrated degrees) M.F.T. degree holder can look to vast arena of job opportunity in Export Houses, Consultancy Organizations and Industries.

In view of short supply of competent and qualified persons in export and Insurance, an MFT or Insurance student can aspire for senior executive position in export organization with attractive emoluments & perks within short period.

Good opportunities also exist for assignment in foreign countries.

An M.F.T. can also be a good entrepreneur and start his own Export - Import business or Export-Import consultancy organization.

For B.B.A. - FT

Equal opportunities will be available for employment of B.F.T./B.A. degree holder in export houses, consultancy firms and business houses involved in export-import of goods and Insurance Organization and Banks. He can, however, hope to get junior executive position. A smart B.F.T./B.A. with good financial background can be a flourishing entrepreneur in export-import business or consultancy.

IIFTR Alumni Association

IIFTR students have established an IIFTR Alumni, Association to promote fellowship among past and present students of IIFTR. This association will also help its members in their career development. The alumni association was inaugurated by Shri R.C. Mittal, Chairman, Medicaps Education Society on 7th May, 2001. Director IIFTR will be the Patron of this association. Mr. Devesh Pahawa was elected chairman Mr. M. Panga, Vice-Chairman, Mr. Ujjawal Rao secretary and Ms. Swati Suri joint secretary.
